No-Bake Viral “Japanese Cheesecake” (2-Ingredient Yogurt Dessert)

I have seen this Viral Japanese Cheesecake recipe going around social media and decided that I needed to give it a try myself.

It definitely lived up to the hype. Although it's a simple, two-ingredient recipe, it tastes very close to traditional cheesecake. The biscoff cookies add a graham-cracker layer to the Greek yogurt which is the creamy part of the cheesecake. It’s amazing - creamy, slightly sweet, and surprisingly close to traditional cheesecake.

• Difficulty Level: Easy
• Serving size: 6-8 (small portions)
• Family friendly: Absolutely but your kids may devour it in seconds
• Total prep and chill time: 24+ hours
• Serving suggestions: Eat by itself for the most amazing snack

What Makes This Recipe Unique

This recipe is unique because, with only two ingredients, you will be surprised at how velvety, silky, and smooth this recipe is. I thought it was too good to be true. It tastes like a million dollar dessert, but surprisingly simple to make.

What Inspired This Recipe

I saw this recipe on social media and thought I would give it a try. Although I used the simple cheesecake recipe, I have also seen other recipe ideas so you can make it your own and customize it. Since this was a viral recipe, I definitely had to try it.

Worth the hype!

Why This Cheesecake Recipe Works

This recipe works well because it's super simple - it doesn't take a lot of time or ingredients to make a delicious cheesecake. It's also a lighter snack option - I took one or two bites at a time to eliminate my "sweet" fix. The Greek yogurt softens the cookies so they taste like a graham cracker crust with a cheesecake filling. Overnight, the yogurt becomes thick and creamy. The long chill time is what transforms two simple ingredients into an indulgent and decadent dessert.

Is This a Traditional Japanese Cheesecake Recipe?

This is actually not a traditional Japanese cheesecake recipe but it's a no-bake version that mimics the creamy texture and light flavor using everyday ingredients.

While it doesn’t have the exact texture of traditional baked cheesecake, it’s a simple and satisfying alternative made with just two ingredients.

Additional Topping Ideas

  Strawberries
•  100% Pure Maple Syrup
•  *Siete Grain Free Mexican Shortbread Cookies (in place of Biscoff Cookies)
•  Melted chocolate on top, hardened

How to Make This No-Bake Viral Cheesecake

Step #1: Add yogurt to a bowl – In a medium-sized bowl or container, add the Greek yogurt.

✓ Step #2: Add Biscoff cookies - Add Biscoff cookies directly into the yogurt, layering them evenly. You can use whole cookies or break them in half depending on your container size. If you wanted to add optional toppings, you can do that here as well. You can even add some yogurt on top of the cookies, put the lid on and let it sit in the fridge overnight.

✓ Step #3: Enjoy - Use a spoon and break down the cookies. Take a bite and enjoy!

How To Store

Store in the fridge for up to 3 days, in an airtight container with a lid. After 3 days it starts to become mushy and liquidy so I would have it all eaten within 2-3 days.
