Homemade Iced Coffee with Honey and Brown Sugar

If you love sweet coffee like myself, you will want to try this homemade iced coffee with honey and brown sugar. It is super simple with only seven ingredients and can be made in less than 10 minutes. Honey and brown sugar offer a sweetness that can't be bought at your local coffee shop. I always use zero-sugar creamer to avoid adding any extra sugar, as well as almond or soy milk as a milk alternative.

If you are looking for new ways to experiment with coffee, this is the one recipe you will want to try.

What Makes This Iced Coffee So Unique?

This honey brown sugar coffee is unique for me because I have never added brown sugar or honey in my coffee.  I love sweet coffee and typically I create my coffee using Nescafé, soy or almond milk, creamer, Splenda, and sometimes protein powder. I decided to eliminate Splenda and protein powder and replace it with brown sugar and honey. It was well worth it and I will be making this coffee again.

What Inspired This Homemade Honey Brown Sugar Coffee?

I was browsing Instagram like I tend to do and saw a recipe that was made with brown sugar and honey. I wanted to try it out because I really liked the idea behind it. I tend to stick with what I know and what I like but I definitely would rather create and try a different type of iced coffee at home. I also only like iced coffee - I love the smell of hot, fresh coffee but I do not like the taste. I also love trying new recipes so this one worked out perfect.

Why This Homemade Honey Brown Sugar Iced Coffee Just Works

I made this coffee right before work so it was easy on-the-go, it was delicious, and I had all the ingredients on-hand. Even though I always make iced coffee at home, I always end up forgetting to add ice so it ends up being more of a cold coffee, not an iced coffee which is why I was sure to add ice to the ingredient list.

What I Would Do Differently Next Time

The only thing I would do different is try and figure out how to work the honey. I added the honey, Nescafe, and brown sugar to a cup and used the Frother Wand to froth it. Because the honey was so thick, it didn't froth very well. Next time I am going to warm the honey up for 10 seconds before I add it to the cup. If it doesn't froth well still, I can just hand mix it since it will be easier to stir.

FAQ

Do I have to use zero sugar creamer?
Not at all. I use zero sugar creamer to not add extra sugar but feel free to use the type and flavor that you enjoy.

Does it matter if the brown sugar is light or dark?
I used a light brown sugar but I would try dark as well. Feel free to use whatever type you desire.

Can I add anything extra to this iced coffee?
Of course. Just like any of my recipes, you can customize it according to your liking. Feel free to add Splenda or sugar, protein powder, or any other ingredient that you desire.

Who Will Love This Coffee?
If you are an adult that loves sweet coffee, this is the coffee for you! If you are not concerned about calories, sugar content, or carbs, and have a sweet tooth, I would recommend giving this a try. If you need a morning or afternoon energy, caffeine or sugar boost, this is the drink for you.
