How to Make a Healthy Iced Matcha Latte

How to Make a Healthy Iced Matcha Latte

This recipe is another one that was voted "yes" on to make by my Instagram followers, and, to be honest, I was looking forward to making this. My nutritionist has been suggesting different types of drinks to have so I can transition from my Coke Zero that I love so much.

Unfortunately, I have come to realize that I don't like matcha. But you know who does? My 14-year-old. So I made this for him and he loved it. He initially rated it an 8/10 and then as he drank more, he said it got better and we ended with a 9.5/10 with him saying that he would make that again.

• Difficulty Level: Easy
• Serving size: 1 serving
• Total cook time: 5 minutes
• Family friendly: Yes! My teen loved it!

Why You Will Love This Iced Matcha

This recipe is super easy to make. We adjusted it a few times to make it sweeter and to tone down the matcha flavor. It's the perfect afternoon drink to get you through the day. My son had his on a weekend and enjoyed sipping it throughout the day.

You can also take this on-the-go if you’re a busy parent. The great thing is that you're in control of how sweet it is—you can adjust the honey, monkfruit, and vanilla to your liking.

Benefits of Matcha

Matcha isn’t just trendy—it’s packed with nutrients. Here are a few science-backed reasons to enjoy it:

  • Improved brain function
  • Supports heart health
  • Strengthens the immune system

What Makes This Recipe Different?

This recipe is simple to make with only six ingredients and a blender. We used regular milk instead of almond milk (it was what we had), added 1 tsp monkfruit and 1 tsp honey after blending, and used extra vanilla extract for more sweetness.

Inspiration

I wanted a recipe that was easy, budget-friendly, and used healthy ingredients. I came across this version by Sweet Peas and Saffron. We added our own twist with honey and monkfruit to make it even more enjoyable.

Adjust to Your Liking

  • Add more monkfruit (or regular sugar if you would like)
  • For a sweeter taste, you can also try brown sugar
  • For the milk, you can use regular milk, almond milk, or any milk with a creamy texture
  • We added 1 tbsp honey, you can also add more than that if you would like
  • If you would like it iced, you can also add ice once everything is blended together

How to Make a Healthy Iced Matcha Latte (Step-by-Step)

Step #1: Combine ingredients – In a tall glass or blender, combine the milk, vanilla extract, honey, matcha powder, maple syrup, and monkfruit.

Note: If you want to add the honey and monkfruit at the end, after everything is blended, like we did, you can do that too. That way, you are in control of how sweet you want it.

Step #2: Blend – In a blender, blend all ingredients together until combined. I use the brand La Reveuse on Amazon.

Note: For a frothy matcha, here is the frother wand I use. You can use the wand right in the cup if you want and once it gets frothy, move to the next step.
