Inspiration Behind This Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan

This Chicken Parm recipe from Clean Food Crush took awhile to make (it's not the easiest...or the cleanest), but everyone wiped their plates clean! Chicken Parm has always been a family favorite. There were a lot of steps to this one, but it was well worth it.

Make This a Healthier Version

I love switching out non-healthy ingredients for healthier ones, which is why I chose almond flour, olive oil, and low-sodium marinara sauce. I use chicken cutlets/filets because they are thinner and cook quicker and more evenly. We ate the chicken before I could even get a good picture!

Healthier ingredients, crispy texture, and family-friendly appeal.

  • *One jar of spaghetti sauce (ours was with lower sodium)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 5-8 thin chicken cutlets/breasts
  • Pepper to taste
  • 3 eggs
  • *1 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Dried Basil to top

Note: For the best texture, use thin chicken cutlets so they cook evenly and stay tender. Almond flour creates a crispier crust than regular flour and keeps this recipe lighter and gluten-friendly. If your marinara sauce is thicker, add 1–2 tbsp of water to help it spread evenly in the baking dish.
